Six Days of Rain

April 3, 2011

We had an absolutely beautiful weekend. Mild temperatures, sunshine. Perfect for riding. I barely got out of the house and didn’t touch a bicycle (except to inspect the first coat on the build). I could make a series of excuses—some of them even legitimate—but instead I’m doing penance. Starting tomorrow, I will put in hard rides for six consecutive days. The forecast, after such a lovely weekend, is rain. Lots of it. 20mm overnight tonight and another 10-15 tomorrow. And that pretty much sums up the week. While work and family will make these shorter rides, I’m aiming to make this a climbing week, heading up and down the escarpment on a series of zigzaggy rides. Going uphill is never the most efficient way to log distance, but this is making up for a glorious opportunity missed. And toughening the legs for the summer ahead. Stay tuned for waterlogged updates…
