Headwinds Along the Grand River

August 30, 2011

Today’s Ride: 106km—Caledonia, Brantford, Harrisburg

Weather: Sunny

New route, today, following the Grand River from just east of Caledonia to Brantford—some 23km or so with my head in the wind. Long, hard work, but I managed to turn the pedals fairly well and the hard effort, along a largely flat and winding road, passed fairly smoothly. Not much to report otherwise. It was nice to discover some new roads that were smooth and interesting. I had followed the Grand River before, but not from so far east, and heading out the Grand along Haldibrook and McClung Rds. was new.

It also leaves me tempted to try following the Grand the other way—east—out towards Cayuga. Another day, perhaps.
