2011 in Review

January 1, 2012

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog. The numbers aren’t exactly overwhelming (I don’t anticipate bike gear, components, and bikes being thrown my way gratis anytime soon), but it’s interesting to see them presented like this. Of course, the bigger stats—or the ones that matter—are the Bikes to Rwanda numbers WordPress couldn’t count. And that means a big thank you to the good souls who sponsored my riding last year. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2012.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,400 times in 2011. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

Dude, if your blog was like the NYC subway, it would cost $2.25 for each access, be constantly interrupted by someone playing a fucking accordion, and at least twice a week would require the use of an alternate blog.
That said, it might mean a certain someone wouldn’t leave 3 times as many comments as the next guy. Which would be a plus.
    Happy New Year!

All good arguments for riding a bike, huh? It did strike me as a curious comparison.
