Today’s Ride: 21km—Mineral Springs loop

Weather: Sun breaking through: warm

12c by 9:00 this morning. Good. Knee-warmers and off. Up the Old Ancaster Rd. instead of Wilson: a sign that form is coming. My willingness to take on the steeper climbs so early in the ride boded well. And the climbing was fine. Good going up and recovering quickly. Ups and downs went well: no rests, no slow-downs. Power was good, speed was strong. Not afraid of the ups. And attacked the turns.

I came home to this piece on the Velominati site. Maybe not appropriate to talk about fatigue on such a short ride—and I really didn’t feel any, but I was pleased with how quickly I was working back up the cassette and how I didn’t let up along the rest of the ups and downs. Short ride, but all-out this morning. Finished with the satisfactory grimace of having gone hard and having more gas in the tank than I thought.
